Here is a selection of the items up for auction at this year’s event. More items, big and small, will be available including gift certificates, unique experiences, and services. And there are more surprises to come!

Last school year, the SAC fundraising supported Horizon Alternative totalling approximately $16,600 including:

Horizon’s Fundraising Auction and Social is a great night filled with fun, family, friends and of course – food! The Auction Committee is kindly requesting the donation of ONE food item from each Horizon family.

Families are asked to bring a dish to share. Anything from secret-recipe appetizers to your can’t be missed main, to finger-licking tasty treats.
Some food suggestions may include the following: charcuterie; vegetable and dip platter; cheese and cracker platter; fruit skewers; wraps/mini sandwiches; pizza squares; pasta salad; vegetarian maki; mini cupcakes; cookies; brownies.

Please sign-up here so that we can ensure that there are lots of yummy dishes.

Special Requests:

1)Please ensure that your food donation will serve a minimum of 10 people.

2) Please ensure that your food donation is both nut-free and shellfish-free in order to be respectful of guests with food allergies.

3) Please do NOT bring food which requires cooking or reheating, since the event venue does not have an oven or microwave for our use.

4) Please bring food that is to be served as-is, and in recyclable containers, and with recyclable cutlery/serving utensils, if required.

5) Please remember to label all of the belongings that you wish returned to you, and to collect your belongings at the END of the event (or designate someone on your behalf, in case you need to leave before the event ends).

We need help to host a successful event. We need help from set-up to clean-up and everything in between.

Horizon families are encouraged to help collect and solicit donations for the auction.

We are aiming to raise $15,000 and we ask that each family helps to solicit goods and/or services to auction off.

The evening is a fun-filled family event with loads of entertainment, food, drinks, and amazing items on offer during live and silent auctions.

Horizon Alternative School only undertakes one fundraising event each year – a Spring Auction and Social evening.

DATE: May 22, 2019

LOCATION : Lula Lounge, 1585 Dundas St West, Toronto, ON M6J 1T9

TIME: 6 – 10pm (live auctions featuring extra special items at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm)

Funds raised support wellness activities such as yoga, dance, rock-climbing and skiing, specialty resources such as coding and art supplies, teaching equipment such as musical instruments, Chromebooks and trips and special events such as year-end trip and graduation.
